It happened to Elijah. He obeyed God, God used him, and the enemy began hunting him down. It happened to the three young men - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They obeyed God to the point of risking their lives. It happened to Paul. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord and spreading the Gospel, and he became a moving target.  And it's even happening today. Thousands of men and women answer the call of God, do what He asks, and end up burnt out, depressed, and even mistreated.

Scriptural accounts of these servants of the Lord show that as the stakes got higher and the fires burned hotter, God met each of these servants, providing hope, support, and encouragement by His presence. For Elijah, it was a raven God used. For Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, it was protection in the fire. For Paul, it was the hope and encouragement of friends. And this is what we believe God is calling us to be - instruments He can use to help pastors and missionaries and their families who are wholeheartedly serving Him today and need counsel, care, and comfort to get through a time of trial and then continue their ministry.
